Description
The NATIVE-R2a is a compact 2U MTCA.4 chassis with PCIe x8 backplane which supports up to 6 AMCs and their RTMs. It comes in the same form factor as the NATIVE-R2 but does not provide a dedicated JSM slot or support for a NAT-MCH-RTM.
Powerful Infrastructure and Various Options for Payload Boards
The NATIVE-R2a can accommodate six horizontally mounted double-width AMC modules (five mid-size and one full-size). Moreover, it features up to five µRTM in double mid-size form factor and yet another slot for a sixth µRTM in double full-size form factor. Thus it is possible e.g., to rise the number of interfaces. Other options may be an increase of storage capacity or processing power – all without populating a further slot from the front side. This enables to build a compact, multi-purpose computing system for a variety of applications by integrating cost-effective AMCs.
The NATIVE-R2a supports a double-width full-size MCH and is powered by a double-width full-size Power Module.
Cooling Performance
The NATIVE-R2 chassis features a fully managed Cooling Unit (CU) with airflow from the right side to the left. The CU owns 4 push fans, summing up to a total air flow of 400 CFM (684 m³/h).
Flexible Infrastructure
The NATIVE-R2a features a standard backplane providing space for a further assembly of an RF Backplane. In combination with PCIe x8 via backplane for all 6 AMCs and RTMs, it is an ideal solution for applications with high connectivity requirements. These are, for example, high energy physics, industrial automation, machine vision, test and measurement, and telecom edge, access and aggregation equipment.
