Double-width MCH with High-Speed Ethernet
- double-width, full-size NAT-MCH-S4
- NAT-MCH-G4-CLKP Clock module
- NAT-MCH-G4-HUB-EX Hub module
Description
The NAT-MCH-SCIxE targets on science applications with special demands on high-speed Ethernet. So the pre-configured MCH package comes with a broad FatPipe bandwidth with up to 40G towards the backplane and up to 100G via front uplink.
The combination comprises of
- NAT-MCH-S4 Carrier Hub (the double-width variant of the NAT-MCH-G4)
- NAT-MCH-G4-CLKP clock mezzanine and
- NAT-MCH-G4-HUB-EX Hub module
The MCH base board features 1G / 2.5G / 10G FabricA connections to each AMC, as well as a two 1GbE available viat two RJ45 interfaces at the front panel. If desired the RJ45 interfaces could be replaced by SFP fibre uplinks as an assembly option.
Two low-jitter clock multiplexers route CLK1 and CLK2 (MLVDS signalling standard). CLK3 is executed as PCIe Reference Clock (100MHz Spread Spectrum Clock, HCSL). A precision timing option consisting of a GPS input and an onboard OCXO is available as seperately orderable assembly option.
The NAT-MCH-SCIxE offers a QSFP-DD front uplink with 8x 1-25G. In combination, these ports make up two x4 ports with 100G each. Towards the backplane, the MCH offers various combinations of high-speed Ethernet connections with up to 40G to fit the demands of the science community.
