N.A.T. turn-key solutions and pre-validated development platforms for Software Defined Radio (SDR)

N.A.T.'s Software Defined Radio (SDR) platforms provide the the best from two worlds: adaptible logic for application specific processing of I/Q samples close to the RF paired with ready-to-deploy scalable systems which by default provide features such as high availability, remote management and hot-swap of field replacebale units.
All parts of our systems are following the MOSA (Modular Open System Architecture) approach and thus based on internationally accepted and publically available open standards.

The heart of the N.A.T. SDR unit, NAT-AMC-ZYNQUP-SDR, is a professionally architected Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC), which can be easily integrated into any system hosting AMCs, allowing a flexible and application-specific scaling of the number of RF interfaces.

To enable customers to immediately start their application design on a ready-to-deploy platform, N.A.T. has defined three 
turnkey systems available off-the-shelf, each of which allows you to add further NAT-AMC-ZYNQUP-SDR modules. All systems come with a comprehensive software support and documentation package including
  • VIVADO® sample projects
  • Linux board support package and host driver
  • NAT-libraries for 8 channel phase sync operation and low latency streaming of IQ samples
  • Getting started guide and user manual
  • Hardware and software manuals
  • Sample applications for GNUradio and Matlab


The platforms are professionally architected MicroTCA (
MTCA) systems and include a complete system management also allowing remote management access. Depending on the system size the backplane provides either a single od dual star topology which enable customer to choose between non-redundant and fully-redundant system layouts.

In case you are interested in a special version of any of our system or board level products, N.A.T. has more than 30 years of international experience in product customization and custom designs and can therefore comply with your special hardware requirements such as ruggedization or a custom footprint

All systems shown above can be customized on request, i.e. DC PSUs instead of AC or a mixture thereof (except for NAT-SDR-FLEX-S) or another processing AMC.

Apart from the hardware and software design services N.A.T. also provides consultancy services to its customers.
