Communications Processor AdvancedMC® Board based on multi-core Freescale® QorIQTM P3041

Based on Freescale® multicore QorIQTM P3041 the single-width mid- or full-size AdvancedMC® (AMC) processor board NAMC-QorIQ-P3041 is targeting combined control and dataplane processing applications with the demand for storage capability. Due to its performance and scalability the board also suits time critical data processing applications, i.e. for imaging and control.


The NAMC-QorIQ-P3041 addresses the need of a more cost-efficient solution compared to the P40 and P50 family members. Dual SATA ports provide high-speed, low-cost storage options for statistics or large databases.

At front panel this AMC offers a XAUI (SFP+), a GbE and an USB 2.0 interface. A further distinctive feature provided by this AMC is the combination of two of the different fat pipe options (ports 4-7 and 8-11) such as PCIexpress (PCIe Gen 1 & 2), Serial Rapid IO (SRIO Gen 1 and 2) or 10 GbE (XAUI). In addition, the dual GbE (ports 0 + 1) and dual SATA (port 2+3) lanes offer highest flexibility in user designs and applications.

With up to 1,5GHz core frequency, up to 4 GByte SDRAM and up to 2 GByte NAND-Flash, the NAMC-QorIQ-P3041 delivers industry leading performance for MicroTCATM and AdvancedTCA® platforms in medical, aerospace and (tele-) communication market.

The P3041’s e500mc cores can be combined as a fully-symmetric or as fully asymmetric multi-processing, system-on-a-chip. The ability of the cores to run different operating systems provides the user with significant flexibility in partitioning between control, datapath, and applications processing.
 

The P3041 already provides security and pattern match engines, sophisticated buffer and queue management hardware. In addition the on-board FPGA of the NAMC-QorIQ-P3041 N.A.T. provides a set of IP cores supporting ITDM, RTP / IEE1588 or PTP protocols. Any system clock can be derived from the internally processed protocols and be provided to the system architecture through standard AMC clocks.
